I am an author, poet, and critic My writing has appeared in New Scientist, IGN, and Culture Trip. My website, Books and Bao, launched in 2018 and is a source of information regarding international literature, travel, and world foods. I also run the YouTube channel Willow Talks Books, on which I review and discuss international, queer, and feminist fiction. In 2023, I recorded the audiobook for the LGBTQ+ History Book by DK.
My debut collection of horror stories, Managing and Other Lies, was published in 2024.
Before becoming a writer, editor, and YouTuber, I was a teacher. I taught high school English for several years — which included creative writing, journalistic writing, and critical analysis — before teaching at schools and universities in China, Korea, and Japan.
I was originally born in England, spent many years working and travelling around East Asia, Europe, and parts of the US, before settling in Scotland.
